dry winter skin care for humans ?

well once again the most sucky time of year (winter) brings to me
yet again parched skin...being out and feeding and caring for horses
and ponies and pigs and calves and such leaves me with very painful
skin mostly on my torso...

to the point where I scratch it and then look like a barn cat got
ahold of me
-Eucerin is pretty darn good for that.

- I have the same problem. I did the oatmeal thing too; didn't help
much, and I felt like an idiot wallowing in very pricey food. The best
course is to restrict baths or showers to every other day, but if you do
heavy farm work you probably won't want to go that route, so the next
best thing is to keep the water tepid--not hot, not cold, but
lukewarm--STAY AWAY FROM SOAPS (Dove body wash for sensitive skin has
worked well for me), and moisturize while you're still damp with a body
lotion like Jergens. Also, consider the moisture level in your house.
The worst of my itchy-skin problems went away when we installed a
humidifying system. My houseplants like it, too!

-When you're still wet from the shower, rub on baby oil and then dry off,
but don't rub all the oil off. It'll help alot. Don't slip if you put it
on your feet though! Patty
