What's MY advantage to BIN? I higher profit margin, most assuredly. I just think it's a shame you can't set the BIN as an *alternative* for the buyer instead of an either/or for the seller. In other words, I could start at my usual wholesale but still post the BIN. If someone wants it bad enough, they'll skip the wait and just grab it up. OR they can choose to sit it out and hope for a bargain. I think that would be a much more interesting way to do it.

The way I've always set my auction prices is to start at my wholesale price.
There is nowhere to get them cheaper. The only alternative to guarantee
these prices is to buy in quantity. So, whatever I earn, I'm assured of my
usual wholesale price. Obviously I'd love to make more, but that price DOES
have a cushion built into it, so I'm always more than breaking even. I
figure that Ebay's costs are dramatically lower than packing up and doing a
show, so this is my way of sharing my savings. That said, if the beads get
bid up, I'm thrilled to be earning more. If something frequently gets bid
up, I take that as a hint that maybe that style is underpriced. If nobody
touches it, either it's fugly or overpriced. To me, Ebay is one grand test
market!

Oh, and here's the weird flip side. I have actually felt GUILTY a few times
when auctions went WAAAAY over what my retail price was. Those kinds of
bidding wars make me feel bad for the winner.
