White Gold Baby Jewelry
I've been following the thread about 10k gold posts/heat hardening etc with
interest. After reading about nickel allergies I went back and check out
the posts/studs I was putting on my silver jewelry. I am using 14k white
gold posts. I substituted these instead of sterling ones, for strength.
Where does 14k white gold fit into the continium of "good" and "not good"
metal for earring posts?
GOLD IS ALL WAYS GOOD BABY,. JUST MATCH YOUR COLOR WITH THE PIECE ..THERE
SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM WITH GOLD ALLERGIES.
EVERTHING I wrote about 10K NICKEL whitegold goes equally for 14K and
even 18K Nickel containing alloys. Please believe me, it is dangerous
in the extreme. I am away from my computer on work in the U.S., but am
taking over a friend's computer to repeat my warning.
I have received MANY mails since I wrote with horror stories which I
shall post with the permission of the writers when I return home.
Please do not use Ni WhGold. "Gold is gold, baby" was a frivolous and
irresponsible reply someone has posted.
