Ring engraving ?
I've never heard of couples getting their wedding rings engraved, but it
sounds like a good idea. What do most people engrave on them?
My husband and I intended to get our wedding bands engraved before
our wedding but we got REALLY busy and it never happened. So for
our 1 year anniversary, we had our wedding bands engraved.
Our wedding was during the Christmas season, so he engraved
"My Christmas Bride" and our wedding date on my ring. He also often calls me
that at special moments.
I've never heard of couples who hadn't got their rings engraved !!
On the fiancee's engagement ring there naturally is the fiance's first name
and the date of the engagement and on the fiance's ring the fiancee's
first name and the date of the engagement. We Finns exchange rings when
we get engaged. On the wedding day only the bride gets a wedding ring
(usually the ring has larger diamonds in it than the engagement ring which
also can be a simple band).
On the bride's wedding the is an engraving with the groom's first name
and the wedding date.
So, here you always engrave the engagement and wedding rings. It is
a beautiful way to "strengthen" the commitment.
