UPS customer service-usedfulless
I've been using UPS (united parcel service) for all my inbound and outbound
shipment. However today's incident makes me think twice about using them
anymore.
I was expecting a shipment today and I called up UPS customer service and
request that they send the package to my residence address in the afternoon.
Customer service says no problem and the package would be delivered to my
doorstep anytime from 2pm to 5pm.
I took half-days leave and waited until 5pm where nothing shows up. I called
up UPS customer service again and was told that because it is destinated for
a residence address, delivery would only be made in the evening and I was
told that delivery would be made by 6:30pm.
Again I waited until 7pm and no delivery. I called up customer service again
and was told that delivery would be made anytime before 10pm.
The point is that If they are not able to make the delivery within the time
promised then let the customer know so that the proper arrangements can be
made. It's no fun sitting there waiting for the delivery when you had an
appointment to attent to in the evening.
Another incident was that I had to send a package out to the US and customer
service quoted me $89 for express service. 1 week later I received a letter
from them that I need to top up another $10. I feel that this is no way of
treating your customer as the 1st quote should be used.
What can I do in this case .Any advices for me .Thank for your help
I think his or her comment is worth airing. It serves as a warning to others
who use UPS for shipping precious cargo.
I had a similar experience when my Traveler was shipped from AstroPhysics. I
was a bit more than displeased with UPS because the scope sat two to three
extra days in the truck and warehouse. The clerk behind the counter got the
location of the box wrong because he simply refused to check where it was.
If he had performed a one-minute check (I found out later from a UPS
manager), he would have discovered that the package was in the warehouse,
not the truck. I therefore could have had the instrument safely in my sweaty
little hands the first day and have discharged UPS for the scope's
responsibility. In UPS favor, the carton showed no signs of being
drop-kicked.
