Treatment for cystic acne
What do you know about something called cystic acne? I had a hideous
patch for 6 months. Prescriptions didn't help, doxycycline and azelex
creme, as much as a hot cloth and a needle to poke the pimples. And to
think, I spent almost $200 on dermat. exam and medicine. My problem is
that the cysts are back in different places, but just as gross. Any
suggetions?
The quickest and best treatment for cystic acne is to have the cysts
injected with cortisone ( I think this is what they use). They disappear
by the next day.
I'm surprised that your dermatologist didn't do this for you. The
treatment has been around for over ten years.
If going to a dermatologist isn't possible for one reason or other try
putting a benzoyl peroxide mask on the spot and leaving it overnight if
you can - this helps - but usually needs to be repeated two or three
times.
