Whats the best treatment for Cystic Acne?
Does anyone know which perscription treatment would be the best for treating
cystic acne?
Ive got a bad case of it, and im worried that what my doctor has given me
isnt powerful enough or wont do the job very well, and I have to take it for
5 months. There has to be a quicker way!! I want to go on something that is
powerful and works fast, I dont want to take a low dosage medicine and have
to take it for half a year for any change to be noticed. Should I go to
another doctor? But if I do, they wont know me as well as my current doctor,
and would most likely also give me something with a low dosage and effect.
-find a dermo that will give u Kenalog injections to ur cysts...they will
dissapear in 48 hrs max.
-Sounds like you're on Accutane which is currently the best treatment for
cystic acne. You should however
notice a gradual improvement as you're on the medication.
- I hope you would KNOW if you were on Accutane! It is a serious drug
and I think patients should be super informed about the stuff.
Maybe you are on antibiotics, and they can help with the cystic acne.
Topicals don't help that much. ( I didn't know this until recently) They
are also taken for around 5 months.
So, if the antibiotics are not helping, go back after a couple of
months and ask for Accutane.
It is slow too, but will cure many people who suffer from persistant,
cystic acne.
