Titanium Belly Ring?

I got my belly peirecd about 3 mounths ago and I really want to change the hoop

to a curved barbell but the peircer said i should wait 6 months. Is that

nessarey?
it really depends on what's best for you. three months into the

healing of my uh...*navel* piercing, i still had a lot of

swelling and tenderness. so i did what had to be done, and

inserted a 12 ga CBR. actually, inserted isn't the correct

word. *forced* would be more accurate. my navel healed within a

month. that's right! my navel healed in four months, not the

9-12 months that i was told it would take.

like i said, it depends on what's best for your body; i am not

recommending that you do this.

If the ring is loose in the skin, then the time would be right to change to

a curved barbell. The curved barbell is harder to clean, but it feels better

under clothes. Don't make the mistake I did. About a year after my piercing,

I took the niobium bead ring out and put in a surgical stainless steel

curved barbell. The piercing started to get sore again and felt painful

sometimes. I put the niobium ring back in and in a few days it felt much

better. The problem was an allergy to the nickel in the stainless steel! By

all means, get a niobium or titanium curved barbell. I agree with most of

what D.. said, also.

Go see your piercer. Why do you want to change it? Is it because you think it

looks cooler, or you think it'll fit better? When I had mine done (with a CBR),

it stuck out *a lot* (my navel is quite shallow), and so I went to my piercer

after 3 months and we both agreed a CBB would fit much better. I got it changed

and it felt much much better.

it shouldnt really matter i changed mine after a couple of months but

i suppose if the peircing is sore or infected then you should leave it

a while longer.
