Amber University (Texas): MBA

Can anyone provide information with regard to this school and program?

It seems that the school has a good local reputation. The program seems to
be challenging.

Input would be appreciated, as I'm starting to narrow my options. At this
point, AU is high on my list because of both regional accreditation and
affordable cost.

I read quite a few of the
messages, but I didn't find specific comments from persons familiar with the
school and the program. The comments were based primarily on opinion based
on price, former affiliation with another Christian university, and lack of
negative comments within this newsgroup.

I haven't uncovered anything negative by running a few searches on the
Internet, but I'd feel more confident in making a final decision if someone
who knows about Amber's MBA could chime in.

Basically, to be more specific, I'm like to know whether the courses are as
challenging as they appear to be (in other words, not a piece of cake for
the average person), how difficult the exams might be, how the Amber MBA is
regarded in general, and the like.

When I was first looking for a MBA program, I thought hard about
Amber. They're cheap and regionally acreditted. However, when I
actually contacted the university to get some more information and
some clarifaction on things from their website, I got some pretty rude
responses! Their actual program might be very good, but their
admissions people are not. I know of a couple of other people who got
the same treatment.

Have you signed up for the Amber University MBA program? If you have,
or are planning to, please share your experience of the program with
the group. I have never met anyone who has actually taken classes from
there via distance learning.

I'm sorry that I did not respond earlier. The original message is pretty
old by now and I only just saw it when I organized the threads in
alphabetical order.

In any event, no, I have not signed up for the Amber program. I am looking
for a program to start in the Fall, but I am not in a hurry to choose one.
I tend to mull things over...and over.

But, of course, as soon as I select the program, assuming that it is
distance ed, I will share my findings with the group.

By the way, do you know anyone who has taken classes from Amber on-site?
