Student Loan Education, opinions?

Whets your onion on student loans??? My spouse and I have been arguing about

this for half an hour....

She works in the public health sector, and I work as skilled tradesman....

Now here's the good part....She's all pissed because she has to pay for her

education, while I was sponsored through under man power....I don't pay

anything back to become a skilled tradesman, but she has to pay back triple

of what her student loans were in the first place due to interest...and when

she has kids they won't qualify for student loans , because she makes too

much money...Why do people who don't contribute as much to the economy get

the benefits from those who do??.

Anyone else care to express their onion on the matter??
What exactly do you mean? Do you thinking getting a student loan is a

benefit? It is a necessity, but something that will be a pain in the ass

for years to come. Most parents would love to be able to help out and pay

for their children's education, but that is not always the case. So those

who are less fortunate, have to go the student loan route. Now as for the

statement about how these people contribute less but get loans.....should we

only allow an education to children who have parents making more $$$ than

those their friends who may have parents making less money? Of course not.

While person A will be making their money after school and putting it in the

bank, person B will be paying off student loans first. So in actuality,

they get a LOAN....they aren't given money from the rich people and becoming

a drag on society, they are getting a loan of money, in order to benefit

their lives, and ultimately, benefit society with more education. Not to

mention they will pay back the loan and more besides.

However, something needs to be done for people who can't get loans because

a) their parents make too much, and b) the parents won't want to help their

kids. There is no option available, and despite numerous phone calls, trips

to the dept. of education, and meeting with student aid. The only answer is

"tough luck". I know someone personally in that situation and it sucks.
