Sterling Silver Emerald Ring
How many rings do you wear and how many do you consider is too many? I
have seen those with seemingly every finger taken, and it almost looks too
much. If the rings are not bulky or thick it appears to work a little
better, but is there a general rule or guideline? And what is your opinion
of rings worn not at the base of the finger, but in the middle?
Every day, one - my wedding band.
When going out - three - my wedding band, my mom's wedding set -
both on the ring finger of my left hand - and my diamond cluster ring -
on the ring finger of my right hand.
Years ago, I wore a lot of rings at the same time, now I can't stand
it. I'd rather more or less "highlight" one or two nice rings than wear
a bunch that all sort of get jumbled together.
I couldn't stand a ring that fit on the middle of my finger, that'd
be so "unnatural" to me and I'd be afraid it'd fly off too.
I wear only one, my wedding ring. I like the look of rings but don't
really like wearing them, so I only wear the one, because I am used to
it and usually it doesn't bother me (I still take it off when it gets in
my way - my husband gave me a beautiful crystal ring holder years ago to
hold it when my finger couldn't). So for me, too many is two. On someone
else, I think it looks like too many when there are multiple rings on
every finger. Some people can pull off a few on each hand, but when
there's more metal showing than hand, it's too many.
Generally it looks odd, and I think the ring would be likely to fall
off. But I have a good friend who wears a thumb-ring often, and she
wears that kind of in the middle of her thumb, just below the knuckle.
It looks terrific, just different enough to be noticed, but she doesn't
wear a ton of other jewelry so it's not overkill. I don't know if it'd
work on me, but on her it's very cute!
I wear my wedding ring on my left hand, a gold band with five
graduated diamonds. I have about a dozen rings to choose from for my
left hand but never wear more than one at a time. My faves are the
two from my mom, her engagement ring which is white gold with a
solitaire and baguettes on each side, and a rose gold pinky ring with
tiny diamonds and rubies.
