For my mom - Skin care advice - long

The other day my mother and I were having a conversation about about plastic
surgery, skin care, and cosmetics. She is a caucasion, 58 year old woman who
was never much into makeup or skin care until I introduced her to it! She has
normal to dry skin, some "brown" spots on her face, wrinkles around her eyes,
and "loose skin." She never wears sun screen, not that she is out in the sun
that much - but we all know that doesn't matter! She also rarely washes her
face at night after wearing foundation and full makeup all day...EWW!!! She is
so cute, she will call me and say, "Eileen, you will be so proud of me..I just
washed my face with that cleaner you bought me!"

Anyway, I asked her if she knew that using certain skin care products would
make a difference on the "quality" of her skin, would she buy them? She said
that she would. Since the holiday seasion is coming up, I could splurge and
buy her some products... but I don't know what could work? I realize that skin
care is so personal, and that there is not "one" product that fits all, but I
know there is got to be something out there "over the counter" that I can
purchase to improve her skin...isn't there? CDLM? La Prarie? I don't know..
I do know that if anybody would know, it would be alt.fashion...So start
thinking! Thanks!
-You don't need to get her really expensive products--the simpler the routine,
the more likely she is to use them. The problem with expensive products and
mothers is that they use them very sparingly, thinking they have to save them
for a special occasion.

Get her those Oil of Olay disposible cloths or the Wondercloth so she has no
excuse for not removing her make-up every night.
For visible results, I'd get her a glycolic nightcream, Renova or a copper
peptides serum--whatever you think she's most likely to use.

The only other things she needs are a good eyecream and daytime moisturizer
with SPF 15. Oil of Olay, Loreal, Origins Skinamins, Paula's Choice are all
fine. I even got my mother the Signature Club A Five Essentials Cream because
the lid houses a separate eyecream, which will remind her to use it.
If that seems too simple, treat her to a few glycolic facials.

-I am 55 and love the CDLM as an all purpose moisturizer. A little
goes a very long way. I am also very happy with Pola products and you
can purchase them either through www.exclusivelyjoann.com or
www.whosthefairest.com You can chat with eith Jo Ann or fig via e
mail or at their toll free numbers to see which products might be good
for your mom. Also there are always samples for her to try first. I
would definitely go with samples because you don't want to buy her
something that might cause an allergic reaction. I use the Pola
plenna products for cleansing but their have been raves about the
moisture essence. I have been a devoted La Prairie user for 15 years
but note they are not my first choices to suggest to someone who has
not used expensive skincare. I think they are overpriced and that you
can get similar products not paying as much.
