Favorite Bronzer+Serious Skin Care
1. What's your favorite bronzer stick/powder?
2. Has anyone tried Serious Skin Care from Home Shopping Network?
pls tell me any experiences w/ them, how do they compare
with such products from other brands etc..
especially about their Stretchmark cream, PhaseOut and tinted
moisturizer..
Just wonder if this line really work or not
Regarding the first question, I don't have a favorite bronzer as of yet. In
fact, I've never tried one. I'm still weary of doing this on my pale face. I am
intrigued by it--wondering what kind of different look a bronzer and self tanne
would give my features. However, I've read (in Bobbi Brown's book for instance)
that if you are naturally very pale, bronzers simply won't look right on you.
Well, this makes sense but one day if I get a very good rec for a bronzer
and/or self tanner, maybe I'll give it a shot!
2.Serious Skincare? Well I really wouldn't call my skincare routine serious as
it can vary sometimes. For instance, I'll experiment ocassionally (aspirin
mask!). However, my routine is basically the same...
I like to use my Oil of Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin morning and
night, and whenever I might be washing my face to redo makeup. My skin isn't
particularly "sensitive", but I like how this product is a bit gentler and not
as drying as other washes formulated for combination/oily skin. (Shiny forehead
syndrome!)
If I'm feeling so inclined, I'll use a scrub afterwards. Right now I'm using
either my Garden Botanika Jojoba Scrub (which I just *had* to buy when I saw
they were going out of business) or St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I know I know...a
lot of people against those grainy scrubs. But I like them and find it really
works for me.
After I scrub (or if I don't scrub at all), I finish off by squirting my
beloved Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner on a cotton ball and running it all over
my face to remove any last traces of dirt and makeup, and to feel a bit more
"refreshed." (concentrating especially on my chin). Unfortunately, when I went
to the drugstore the other day, they were all sold out of my fav toner. I
needed one desperately though because my bottle was absolutely empty so I
narrowed all of the astringents in the aisle down to the ones which didn't
contain *alcohol* (much too drying for my combo skin--or anybody's) and ended
up sticking with Neutrogena brand and am using (for this month or until I can
find my blessed blue bottle), The Alcohol Free Antiseptic Cleanser. It's gentle
enough and works well but I can definitely feel the menthol and eucalyptus in
this one. Very cool (as in cold) feeling.
Finally--if I have a zit or two I dab them with Clean and Clear 5% spot
treatment. Works just dandy.
