P-induced acne/scars?
I have P all over the back of my head, which I've been treating off and on with
Olux for a while. I don't use the Olux as often as I should (it's a pain to
apply when my hair is wet, and I usually leave the house before my hair is
dry--plus I need to make it last for a while) so the P never really goes away.
Problem is, it itches and so I'm always scratching. The scalp flakes get down
the back of my shirt, and as a result--lots of acne on my back that doesn't
seem to go away either. The fact that I live in a house with no A/C doesn't
help. I don't have health insurance any longer so can't just go visit the
dermatologist.
Does anyone have suggestions on clearing up this type of acne? I'd ask on an
acne NG but since the cause is P-based (and therefore ongoing) I thought people
who've dealt with this might have some more useful suggestions.
I also have some scarring that I'd ideally like to treat once I get the acne
cleared up, but vitamin E tends to just help bring the acne back. Any oil-free
ideas for lessening scarring?
It's not though. Psoriasis doesn't induce acne. Honestly. It makes
your skin cells grow too fast. That's not going to cause acne. The
steroids that you're treating it with can, and it's possible that any
other moisturizing you do might clog the pores and cause some. or
anything else that might be soaked up by the psoriasis flakes vs the
flakes themselves. Or it might just be that you are prone to acne
without the psoriasis being involved at all. Sorry.
I know there are some new OTC topicals out on the market that they're
pushing to reduce/eliminate scars. Dunno what's in them, and I know
some of them are intended to be put on an open wound before the scar
becomes an issue, but you might ask your local pharmacy about them
