how to wear pear shaped diamond ring?
I received a pear shaped diamond ring for Easter, and was wondering - do
I wear it round end towards me or away from me? I am curious to know
what you all do.
Sort of like the cameo question. Myself, I'd say wear the ring so the
round end is away from you...
the largest part of a stone is that one closer to the body: look at
your hand and think about the harmony of the finger with the ring!
I own a pear shaped sapphire with a smaller diamond off to the side the side
and it's called pear shape because the top is narrower than the bottom.
Therefore, the top is to be worn as the slimmer part and the bottom is the
wider part and it visually elongates the finger in a sort of an optical
illusion type of way. (The widest part of the pear in the gem should be
closest to your knuckles in other words, unless you like the way it looks
otherwise better.)
Also, if it's prong set and you wear the pointy end down, you're more likely
to snag you're clothing and possibly stab your skin if there's gold at the
slimmest point of the pear, like on mine. My matching pear shaped lever back
sapphire and diamond earrings can't even be worn pointy side down. Won't fit
in that way to the ear in terms of how they're made.
As to how it should be worn ... however is most visually pleasing to
you. For me, that would mean with the larger end closer to your wrist,
and the narrower end pointing towards your knuckles.
