salicylic acid?
i'm going to try Salicylic Acid in the morning insteda of
BP to save my clothes. I'll still do BP at night. i get what I think
is a good BP from a company called Clinical Formula in Santa Barbara.
They dont have a Salycilic Acid.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a quality
supplier of Salycylic Acid, and also some usage types. For instance,
does SA tend to be drying, and if so can you mix it with moisterizer
(I'm a guy so I have to put SOMETHING on my face after shaving, even
if my face gets greasy in the afternoon, which it always does, I avoid
aftershaves and find that the moisterizer in my BP is good for after
shaving but as I said I cant use BP after shaving anymore to save my
clothes.)
Are there any other things I should keep in mind using SA? Right now
my face soap (Aveeno acne bar with oatmeal) has SA in it, but I'm
washing right off so how much can it really be doing?
-Ask your Doc about Azelex ( Skinoren in the UK ), which has a stronger
action than sal acid and is antimicrobial.
I used it for a while, before Accutane.
It stings a bit when applied but I found it as good as BP.
It also seemed to control the shine for longer.

(Only prob is that it is low on sal acid, .5% instead of the max 2%)
I luv this stuff, I mix it with BP.
(But now I'm trying the soy moisturizers, however I don't know if this
would work for men (soy/estrogen thing). Too bad, because soy thins
facial hair, it would make shaving easier for guys.(in addition to
acne/redness etc improvement)
