Buying a used mobile or manufactured Homes?
Buying a used mobile or manufactured Homes?
My concern is other expenses involved. We'll probably save a couple
hundred a month on rent on the space vs. our current apartment . How do
you find a trailer ( a used mobile or manufactured homes) that isn't going to fall
apart or need expensive repairs right away? On SSI we can only have 3K in savings
as a couple, so unfortunately we can't save much at a time for future repairs. How
do you find a reliable inspector to check structural viability, wiring,
plumbing, roof, etc. before buying? And what about insurance, taxes,
title, anything else - how much do these all run? Anything else I
should consider? We're disabled, as I mentioned, and would have to hire
out any repair work.
- Aren't there some nice new single-wides available for $40K? Shop
around because that would be better than buying a used one for a
similar price. Also,if you do buy used, watch out for manufactured
homes/mobile homes/trailers that are too old.
