Real Estate Certification/Sales Training - How to start?
I am interesting in working as a real estate broker in NJ. Could someone advise
how to start?
- I dunno about NJ but back home in Chicago, you could take a class at the
local college that taught the necessary stuff to pass the cert test. Might
wanna check that out.
- Real estate licensing is at the state level. Each state has different
requirements, ranging from zero toi 150 classroom hours of education,
plus an exam. To find the requirements in your state, contact your
state licensing agency. It is usually called the Real Estate
Commission or Department. Most of them have basic information on a web
site.
- If all else fails, call around and talk to a few
Brokers in your area. They can tell you the requirments
and reccomend schools, etc.
In may case, I got a bug in my britches in January that
I should get into real estate. By February I had bought
a home study course (recomended by three brokers).
On March 25th I passed the state licenseing exam.
On April 7th I began the In house sales training class
for new brokers at my new office.
