Recommendations for real estate agent, lawyer & mortgage broker
had such success getting feedback from people about home inspectors
(many thanks to all who offered their views) that I thought I would
return to the well again to ask for people's recommendations for
real-estate agents, lawyers and mortgage brokers.
I'm looking for an agent with experience working in the downtown area,
who won't balk at working with first-timers looking for an modest house
(probably less than $170K, so no enormous commission), doesn't object to
doing a certain amount of hand-holding, and won't make us feel like
we're wasting their time away from other wealthier clients.
In a lawyers, we just want to make sure that we have someone with
experience in real-estate law who will do a competent job, for a fair
price, and will return our calls once we have engaged them.
As for the mortgage broker, like anyone else, we want to get the best
deal on a mortgage, both in terms of the rate and the conditions on the
mortgage (we're keen on accelerated repayment). So let us know who has
been able to deliver for you.
As before, please provide me with the benefit of your experience. Send
me your recommendations (or warnings) about people you have dealt with.
Actually, there is a new Canadian site that was presented on New RO. It's
whole purpose it to exchange private referrals which are rated by users.
They also have comments section for each referral. Check it out and submit
your real-estate agent if you found one.
