Radiant Cut Engagement Ring, what's your dream engagement ring?
So if price is not a question, what would you want to be proposed with? What
kind of ring, where would you get it or where is it available, and how much is
it?

I agree. I've never understood the months of planning & incredible amounts of
money so many people happily spend on their wedding. For my dream wedding
ring, I would likely choose a simple platinum wedding band with something mushy
& sentimental engraved inside.
I know I don't want a diamond after reading about some of the horrors of the
diamond mining industry (soon, I will move to a hut somewhere because I find a
new thing to boycott everyday. Like, should I really be using this electricity
to read alt.fashion with the energy crisis in my state?)
I think I might get one of those ring tattoos and have my fiance take me to
Disneyland and have one of the park characters unite us in matrimony.

Well, in September we'll have been married for 13 years, and I never got
an engagement ring. I'm figuring it probably won't happen, which means
that MY dream engagement ring really IS a dream engagement ring!
But actually, I never wanted a diamond engagement ring. I find diamonds
amazingly uninteresting unless they are of superb quality and impressive
size. An itsy bitsy not-very-good quality stone, which is all my husband
could have afforded (and even then, he would have to have put it on a
credit card) was of no interest to me ... Maybe I'm tone deaf to jewelry
or something.
My dream ring would be an emerald cut diamond set in platinum, D color,
flawless or VVSI ... maybe four carats.
