Philosophy Skincare
Anyone currently using Philosophy skincare? I have heard so many people rave
about hope in a jar and real purity.
However, I can't tell whether or not HIAJ is for oily or dry skin. I have
combo skin.
-I've tried samples of both (which lasted about a week).
Real Purity - didn't get all my makeup off and made me break out. Not
impressed.
Hope in a Jar - sank in very quickly, with a pleasant feel. Not very
rich. I would guess unsuitable for very dry skin.
I didn't buy either. I suggest you try and get samples first as I
suspect these products are not suitable for everyone.
-philosophy's skincare is surprisingly bad, considering it's made by biomedics,
a respected aesthetician only line. the real purity is okay, but has too many
scents and extra frou-frou addded in.
the hope in a jar has fruit acids..and i think at one point came in oily and
dry skinned versions. the thin skin, for sensitive skin, is full of silicones,
and scents, and basically feels like a layer of plastic over your face....an
irritating one at that.
overall, i think the line is cleverly named and very poorly done.
-I've tried Philosophy skin care in the past, and overall, was not too
impressed. Real Purity is just your average so-so cleanser. I'm quite happy
with my Sheseido The Skin Care Mousse. Real Purity didn't get rid of all my
makeup, and left my skin feeling overly stripped. Hope in a Jar is made for
more drier skins, but wasn't moisturizing enough for me in the winter (try
Cetaphil instead maybe). I think that Philosophy used to make a product called
Hope in a Bottle for more combo skins...never tried. The Philosophy counter
near me is always generous with sampes. Overall, I've found Philosophy to be a
hit and miss line. The skin care, with the excetption of Deeply Superficial,
did nothing for me.
