Online University Degree Program
Would like some recommendations for good online degree program for
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or any computer related degree
program.
If you decide that the BS in CIS will meet your needs I would encourage you
to look at a program which has received little attention in this NG. After
starting on the BSCIS program at UMUC, which I found to be poorly organized,
I transferred to the University of Massachussets at Lowell BS in IS program.
I have found the UML program to be well organized, the instructors are
knowledgeable and very approachable. I have yet to find an instructor who
responded to posts in more than, say, 12-18 hours. On one occasion at UMUC I
waited two weeks for a reply. Most UML instuctors offer a weekly chat which
offers the opportunity for frequent, real-time interaction which I find to
be very important in complex, detail-oriented courses like advanced C++. The
tuition is also relatively inexpensive, $200.00 (US) per semester credit.
I'm often asked about distance learning programs in Computer Science and
this is the most complete list I've seen so far.
Plus it helps me not to forget anyone.
I think I'll just go ahead and expand list with little more details, like:
- Exact degree offered
- General addition requirements
- Approximate price
- Any other details worth noticing...
This list would save everyone a tons of research time...
I think that I've lost good two months - maybe more, just researching the
subject before I decided.
