Mortgage Payment Estimator
"what if" Mortgage Calculator
I would like a mortgage calculator to download
that you can enter diff. variables in boxes/areas
interest rates, x number of months, monthly payments, etc.
and hopefully (also)
to come up with amoritization to print out when calculations are
done...but not necessary.
Anyone help me???
I have had difficulty finding
such a program myself. If you have limited disk space then you might
consider looking at some of the online banks. Some have online
mortgage calculators.
Watch out for "limitations" if you download some of the programs
recommended on this thread. I have come across a number that will
only give full calculations for set interest rates. Crippleware, so
that you pay for their online facilities.
Another program pointed out how many years of a mortgage could be
reduced by paying NO MORE on ones mortgage. One just paid half their
monthly payment every two weeks.
Duh ! One really wonders who is the most stupid. The people who make
such an absurd claim or the people who believe it !
Obviously they don't recognise that people can work out that 12 x 1 is
not the same answer as 26 x 1/2.
The advice to use a spreadsheet is a good one too. If you have limited
disk space. Suppose you have Lotus installed. You go File - New
Workbook - Calculate Loan Repayments and with a single click a
spreadsheet is calculated ! Eg.
6.00% 6.25% 6.50%
$100,000.00 $716.43 $730.93 $745.57
Or if you know your repayments and you want to see them reduce the
total to $0 then go FILE - New Workbook - Amortise a loan. Eg.
Year | Month | Balance | Payments | Principal Interest | Cumulative
Principal | Cumulative Interest | Ending Balance
etc.
