Moorcroft, the debt creators are at it again!! ??
A couple of months ago I posted how Moorcroft Debt Recovery Limited were
hounding me, by post, at my home address, and by telephone, for a utility
debt which had nothing whatsoever to do with me, but which may, or may not
have been incurred by previous occupiers of my home address.
Apart from the odd idiot, I received a lot of encouraging replies which
assured me that, what Moorcroft were trying to do, in holding me responsible
for a previous owner/tenants debt was just not on, and that I should simply
ignore them.
I did this and, lo and behold, there were no further communications from
Moorcroft, until today that is.
Today I received a letter from them informing me that to prevent more
serious action, they are prepared to accept instalments of £10 per month.
They tell me that if I do not make a start on discharging this ficticious
debt by 10am on 17/04/05 they will recommend court proceedings against me.
They add that it is in my best interests to give this matter my immediate
attention and attach at the end of the letter a detachable Girobank order
which quotes various account numbers etc, and yet bills the account, not to
me, Colin Peters, but to THE OCCUPIER at my home address.
Okay, everyone, I can handle this kind of crap, but how many elderly and
confused people have this firm robbed?
I am forwarding a copy of this mail to my MP, Gerry Sutcliffe, in the hope
that as, Consumer Affairs Minister, he might address this situation, before
parliament when and if, it econvenes.
-If it is sent to the 'occupier' and not to a real person, just throw
it away. No need to respond, no need to lose sleep etc.
If they tried to take the 'occupier' to court they would get laughed
out.
They are just trying to scare you wi
