Microsoft Customer Relationship Management Installation Error
When installing MSCRM I receive the following messages:
Message 1:
Fatal Error
Installation ended prematurely because of an error
Message 2:
Microsoft Customer Relationship Management Server Setup Error
Failed to install Microsoft Customer Relationship Management Server.
Failed to install MSI part of Microsoft CRM Server setup.
Unspecified error
(80004005)
In the Event Log I have the following items:
Event ID 7009
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Microsoft CRM Security Service
to connect.
Event ID 7000
Source: Crystal_CrystalAPS
The Microsoft CRM Security Service failed to start due to the following
error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion.
Event ID 35101
The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Unable to
connect to the database using the provided connection string. Reason:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user
'MYVAGNER\AVENGER$']
I am running Windows Server 2000 SP3, SQL 2000 SP3, and MDAC 2.7 SP1
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
This same error appears to have been reported on 2-21-03 by user Z$ in post
entitled, "Install--Fatal Error"
You didn't mention how you were doing the install; however, I did notice
that if I put the MSCRM Server disc into the CD-ROM drive (on the designated
server) and then connected to that server using Terminal Services (from my
workstation) and ran the installation, it failed. When I actually logged on
the server directly and ran the install, the error disappeared and the
installation was successful.
