Newbie Question - Microsoft CRM installation

I am trying to get started with Microsoft CRM 1.2 (on a test environment).
I installed a virtual machine with win2003 and SQL server 2000 on it.
I understand that Microsoft CRM needs to comunnicate active directory in
order to be installed. My questions are:
What is the procedure i should follow? What software should i install in
order to make it work? Will DHCP be installed also? If so, won't it interfere
with the IP allocations in our production environment?

Thanks in advance for your help.
If you are trying to set this up for test purposes, I would recommedn
configuring your virtual image to be it's own environment, complete with a AD
controller. Especially is this is just for testing and playing around, you
don't want to be messing with your prod domain. You can also configure VPC so
that the netwroking does not interfere with the rest of the environment and uses
it's own IP ranges.

Make sure you read the Implementation Guide to make sure you have all the
pre-reqs installed.
You might try two Virtual machines. Setup SBS2003 on the first server. This
gives you AD and Exchange. On the second Virtual server create a member
server of the new forest. Do your normal checks for AD problems (DCDIAG,
NETDIAG).

Add the Webserver role to the member server and install full SQL2000 on it
along with SP3.

Get all your preregs together and do the install.
