Microsoft CRM Customization

Definitely not a seasoned expert at this...just a small business trying to
take advantage of the customization features provided by Microsoft's CRM 3.0.
Our business uses Microsoft's Dynamics (Great Plains) 9.0 and has gone
through the integration process.

Our first opportunity to take advantage of CRM 3.0 is to track our service
issues. Cases as CRM would like to name them.

I'm trying to customize my Case form and default viewer to show the main
phone number from the Account information. I created the relationship between
Main Phone and a new attirbute that I setup called Phone #. The field
information is identical so the relationship was successfully established. I
Published the Case to make the Relationship stick. I put the field on the
form. I again Published the Case to make the changes to the Form stick. When
I setup a new case and Save the information, the phone number does not get
added automatically like the Help information suggests. How can I make this
field automatically update with this field information from the Account.

I would also like to synchronize (Link) the Master Number from my Dynamics
platform into the CRM platform...is this possible?
The mapping will work when you create a case from under an Account. That is,
if you create a Case from the left navigation of an Account, the phone number
will be mapped automatically.
If you want to create a Case from the Service module and link this to the
Account and get the phone number, you will need to use a Callout.

As for getting the master number into CRM, you can write a webservice to get
this info.

Please refer to the SDK help and samples for more info. Do let us know if
you have any further questions.
