Survivlists in Louisiana and Missippi?

I went back and read some samples of old

posts from this group. Sure seems to be

different now than it was a few years

back. I guess I'm one of the worse

offenders.

One thing I did pay attention to. All you

guys and some ladies were talking about

what to do, if this or that happened.

Well, it just happened. Aren't any of you

from Louisiana or Mississippi? How did you

prepare for this? How well did your plans

work out? What was differnt than you expected?

What would you do differently?

I'm surprised you aren't asking these questions,

or are you all from New Jerseay and California?

Or did all the survivalists from this group living

in Lousiana and Mississippi lose their internet

connections or died in the flood waters or

from shooting it out with bands of looters?

Just curious. If your're from those states and

got hit bad, maybe you'll have to read this and

reply from New Jersey or California.

You can bet if a disaster like this hit Northern

Virginia or Beverly Hills, there wouldn't be

thousand of bodies left laying out in the heat

for more than a week, all bloated up and swarming

with maggots. Then again, maybe there would be.
I live in California so have never experienced a hurricane (and

luckily so far not a bad earthquake). However, a friend of mine,

Martha, was living nears Brownsville, TX in the late 60's when a bad

hurricane was predicted (she was about 8 years old at the time and

didn't remember the name of it). Pre-hurricane her parents evacuated

to grandma's house about an hour north of where they lived. They had

lots of preps for the house full of people - lots of canned food,

stored water, etc. They had also filled the bath tub with water as

per advice from the government. Unfortunately, Martha's little sister

went into the bathroom, discovered the tub full of water and decided

to take a bath! Although they lost their power and water luckily they

didn't need the tub water. Unluckily, when they got back to their

home on the coast they found they had lost pretty much everything.

Seemed like a good time to migrate to California.

The lesson here is that if you fill the tub for emergency water make

sure you either monitor it or explain to the kids that it isn't bath

time.
