Can you loan me a piece of paper. Children say this in school say
this when they really mean give me. I hear of all kinds of disputes
where one party thinks he lent the money, and the receiving party
thinks it was a gift. They may be good liars but sometimes they seem
sincere.
Do you all think there is any chance in some of these cases, the
lender said, Could you loan me 4000 dollars? But he still thought he
was requesting a gift, using the same language as the 11th grade, even
though the other party reasonably thought it was to be a loan?
