I'm looking for an interesting project to do in my spare time and figured might as well make it something others can use. Are there
any processes that ebay sellers would like automated, such as analyzing top selling products, sellers and what not or is there
software like this already out?
I have one. A unique bot that goes out and finds buy-it-now listings with a
price mistake. For example. Take "Rolex watches" The software would go out
and calculate the average BIN price for all watches. Which is, say $1000. I
would like to be able to set the software to notify me INSTANTLY if a new
BIN listing for a Rolex is 50% or more, 60% or more, or whatever variable I
choose BELOW the average BIN price. The notifications will tell me one of
three things. The watch is defective and the price is correct. It's an
accessory for the watch and the price is correct, or it's a price mistake
(the golden goose.) An example of a listing would be a seller meant to put
a $1200 BIN on a Rolex. Instead he put $120. I'm notified instantly. I buy
it, and have, I'm guessing, a 20% chance that the seller will honor that
price.
