Indian Fashion Jewelry
I was wondering if any of you could give me some advice/tips re displaying
jewelry at markets/fairs? In around a month I will be going to my first
markets at a local vineyard.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also does anyone know where I can get ... I don't know what they are called
... they are a neck that you display necklaces on? The ones I've seen are
covered in a black velvet like material.
I have found that pre made display material is horribly expensive and with
my experience at markets and fairs is that the more creative you can be with
displays the better,
ok here's some ideas to try,
pick a colour theme, if you are intending to do lots of markets when the
customer sees your colour across the crowds they will come and see what new
designs you have.
Antique picture frames, insert cardboard covered in fabric where picture
belongs, if you have a variety of frames paint them all the same colour, dry
brush with gold / silver any mouldings or texture.
Find an interesting twisty twiggy branch, use plaster to set it into a pot
and hang necklaces or earrings from it,
Make a mini clothes rail and clamp it to the bench to hang necklaces.
Cover a wrist size, long cardboard roll with fabric and put bracelets on it,
for vintage or Victorian designs try a lace covered pillow.
and for the neck form, give papiermache a try, when I was setting up my shop
( years ago ) they were about $80 to buy new.
