i'm arnie from the philippines, and some of you may remember me
(although i seriously doubt it) as a semi-regular poster to ASP a
couple years ago or so.
lack of time, economic realtities, and various other ugly monsters
made it impossible for me to keep on the group after that first time
although i did try in fits and starts. i hope it'll stick this time
around.
in short, i'm back, i think, and would like to say a big HELLO (or
KAMUSTA if john de manuel is here) to the group!
(i never lost the faith though, my pipes kept burning, and almost
everytime i smoke i say a huge thank you to PIF and the kind ASPers
who helped me out)
a question though, what is the next best thing to ordering via credit
card? i have to order my pipe supplies abroad as there is nothing to
be had locally. you can get the finest cigars from all over the world
here in the philippines, but no pipes or tobaccos except for capt
black, half&half, borkum riff, and the like.
i don't have a credit card, and for the life of me can't understand
why my CC applications always get denied although i always make sure i
have a decent job and the papers to back it up everytime i try for 1,
while my girlfriend's younger brother who's in college and unemployed
received a free 20,000 peso-limit HSBC card in the mail without
lifting a finger. oy.
so far i've survived by borrowing other people's cards (with their
knowledge, of course!) but this gets pretty tedious and i don't want
to impose on their kindness anymore. paypal isn't operating in the
philippines yet, and i'm thinking of something a bit faster than
sending money orders in the mail.

States, it has become quite common for banks to give debit cards with a Visa
or MasterCard logo that draw money directly from your checking account, just
