Soka Gakkai Harassment Lawsuits - no. 5

how does the Osaka District Court Reject the Ikeda Soka Gakkai's Harassment
Lawsuit ?

June 3, 4 and Nov. 26, 1993, 30 members of Soka Gakkai filed
lawsuits against the Head Temple Taisekiji claiming compensation
for damages in the amount of 145.2 million yen, because part of the
area used for the cemetery at Taisekiji was not zoned for use as one
with the government.

However, on Oct. 21, 1998, Judge Takeshi Mizuno, a judge of the
Osaka District Court, rejected all claims by the plaintiffs and
ruled in favor of the defendant, Taisekiji.

and Libel Campaign

The Head Temple, with the building of Shohondo, transferred its
cemetery to its current location in June of 1969. Gradually, the
area it covered was expanded, yet there had been no problems in
using it as a cemetery. However, when Soka Gakkai learned that
part of the cemetery extended beyond its licensed area for operation,
it had its members file a lawsuit in a criminal proceeding against
Taisekiji, on Dec. 3, 1992. Additionally, SG members filed a lawsuit
claiming compensation for damages on June, 3, 1993, in the Tokyo
District Court, and the next day, on June 4, 1993, in the Osaka
District Court. Along with that, Soka Gakkai launched a massive,
libel campaign against NS.
