Any experiences w/guaranteed approval credit cards?
How can I get the credit card?
I just received another one of those "you're approved" mailers for a Master
card, this time from Capital One Bank. The deal is: you send them a $100
deposit that goes into a savings account in your name, as a security and
you get a Master Card with a $500 limit. I looked them up on the Web, and
they seem legit, but I'd like to hear from someone who's tried this first.
Since I can not get a "regular" credit card because of a bankruptcy 6 years
ago, this is very tempting. I just don't feel warm and fuzzy about sending
anybody $100 up front. I really need a credit card, since a lot of
companies, including Hertz, my place of employment's preferred auto rental
company, no longer accepts debit cards (even though it has a Mastercard
logo on it), don't take cash (!!!!), and don't take personal checks. In
other words, if you don't have a credit card, get lost!
