OT: Sights on relocation ? from Government Repossession ?
OT: Sights on relocation ? from Government Repossession ?
I'm looking to buy an acre (or more if the $$ is right) to "retire" to. I'd
like to make the purchase in the next year. Retirement is a bit off yet :-)
Since so many of you are stretched all over, I thought it be nice to see
what recommendations I could get.
I'd like to be on or near water. Not more than 20 minutes from the grocery
store, the movies, gas, etc.
Don't want to go any farther north than I already am, which is SE PA.
Wooded would be nice but not necessary as long as there is at least ONE
tree. I can get an acre in PA for about $35,000; I think I'd like to go
where it gets warmer.
Thoughts?
may may interest in that
We have a second home in Jim Thorpe, PA. It is gorgeous up there all four
seasons. Land is fairly cheap 7-15,000 per acre perked, and there are a lot of
repossions, drop dead gorgous houses with 1-2 acres. We bought our's through a
government repossession. It was only 4 years old, actually only lived in two of
those years. The couple divorced and lost the house. . There are tremendous
buys up there. You ever want to come up some weekend, let me know. We're up
just about every weekend. Even though I work up there, I still love it. No
traffic, no noise, very peaceful.
