Good Skin or good Foundation
I want your opinions..being the foundation fanatic that I am, Any time I see
someone with makeup beautifully applied I'm daring enough to ask what they use.
When I see a flawless face I'm waiting to hear Dior, Lancome, Chanel, etc. and
9x's out of 10 it will be a drugstore brand like Cover Girl, Revlon, etc. or
the one answer I hate the most - nothing just some powder.....
So my questions is....can people with good skin use any line be it a $99
foundation that would look awful on someone with skin (like mine) that needs
help? Or does the price of a product really matter? Maybe I should be
investing my $$ in finding the perfect skin care rather then the perfect
foundation.
-I think they both go hand in hand but with good skincare coming first.
I am one of those that can get away with wearing nothing but powder or
a sheer foundation and nothing else. I can't wear every type of
foundation such as heavier coverage ones but I can usually wear most
of them. So I think with good skin you can get away with much more
then opposed to someone who has problem skin but each persons skin has
needs that must be met and thats what you have to look for when
searching for a foundation or skincare routine.
I don't think the price of a product matters. I think if it works for
you and you feel comfortable paying for it, then use it.
I think if I had to pick one though it would be skincare. It really
does make a difference in my opinion.
- I work with many many clients
in my retail studio - some with perfect
skin, and some with skin far from perfect.
My advice always is to work with the skin
first, get it in as good a condition as possible and then secondly, work on
finding the best foundation and/or powder - the rest is much easier.
Of course, some people are blessed with
naturally wonderful beautiful skin and all
they need is a very sane, simple effective
skin care maintenance line and it is
probably true, they can use most any
foundation, but really poor foundations can create problems for them as well.
My advice to clients always is to spend
your biggest dollars on skincare, foundation and powder, then economize
on color if the choice needs to be made.
Even the most expensive foundations are
not going to make skin look good that is in
poor condition.
