would "Driver's Education" by Dynamix be a good way for me to learn "the rules of the road"?
I've been reading about a educational simualtion called "Driver's Education" by
Dynamix that uses the Red Baron II graphics engine to model driving a car to
teach people how to drive in a risk free environment. It's aimed at novice
drivers. I have a learners permit, and am not really too familiar with laws in
my state about driving, and the program says it can customize the simulation to
all 50 states laws. It also guarantees that you'll get your liscence, etc, or
your money back. I also have not driven in half a year. You see, I have a
mild eye impairment, and I have to take medicine which may cause drowsiness and
worsen my eye condition, although the effects are not fully predictable by my
doctor. I don't have a lot of driving experience, particularly on the freeway.
I'm really worried because driving is real stressful where I live, and there
are many sloppy drivers on the road, kids playing in the street, etc. In you
all's opinion, would this be a good way for me to learn "the rules of the road"
and see whether I have what it takes to drive, or is the software company
selling smoke and mirrors?
I had never heard of this program until I saw a copy at the local Office
Depot (of all places). Reading that the sim uses the RB2 engine is
surprising, considering that the graphics look better than RB2!
