Free Credit History Check




I ordered a phone from Optus Direct. Today, they tell me I failed the

check and am free to reapply in 3 months. My question is why? Has anyone

here had trouble from Optus regarding credit checks. From past experience

they seem to be stricter than the others. I have no bad credit history, 1

phone on contract with voda, 1 off contract with voda, 1 CDMA on contract

with Telstra, no history of late payments for anything. Only debt is a car

loan, half paid off. I earn a more than comfortable wage and don't spend

much.
Guess it might be. They are very careful to not say on what

basis they have told a particular individual to bugger off.

I had bugger all with them, did have Optus long distance

with them years ago, just after it first became possible,

and likely have bugger all if anything in the Credit Advantage

file, tho I havent bothered to check that. Had no problem

getting a 5110 on the $5/month deal recently. Too good

an offer to refuse, if they want to effectively give me a

very decent phone like that for close to free, fine by me.
