Foreclosure Home In Florida information?
I own a home in Ohio and for a year have been forced (job relo.) into
making 2 mortgages and 2 houses. Im am probably going to be moving, for
a job, to Florida in a month or so. I have already been sued for
foreclosure on a home I own (rented out)in Michigan. I assume I will be
"hunted" down and a judgment entered - but in which court? I assume the
deficiency will mean trying to garnish wages and liens agianst a home I
may buy in Florida. If I file for Ch 7 or 13 in Florida - is the
judgment a secured loan -or can the mortgage company, via a court,
place a lien on my FL home?
I'm not sure how it works in those other states but to enforce
judgments of other states in Florida, the foreign judgments will first
have to be domesticated in a Florida court. After domestication, a
foreign judgment operates just like a Florida judgment, so the answer
to your last question is yes, it'll then act as a lien against all of
your property in the state until it's satisfied, avoided, or times
out
