Feline acne

Does anyone have experience treating feline acne? I just started treating
with peroxide this evening. I'm not sure how long it takes to see
results. Is there any ointment that would be safe to use like Neosporin or
cortizone?
-If you're using plastic feeding bowls (the cravaces in them are perfect
growing places for baciteria which causes this) exchange them for stainless
steel or ceramic. After the switch, with the hydrogen peroxide it should
clear up within a week or so.

-Enzo used to get feline acne when he was younger. The vet said it was a
mixture of genetics, stress, and the plastic feeding and water bowls we were
using that caused it.

She also prescribed a daily cleaning with very mild soap and warm water with
a wash cloth, and a small dab of neosporin if he was bothered by the
itching. This, with changing the feeding bowls, helped his acne occur less
often and heal faster, but he still had break-outs every once and a while
just because he was predisposed to it.

He hasn't had a break-out in over two years, and the vet said it can
sometimes happen that cats grow out of the acne. I think that is what
happened with Enzo. Almost like human teenagers.

Just wash the area daily with the washcloth and mild soap and water, treat
major breakouts with a very small dab of neosporin (consult your vet before
doing this), and it should clear up.
