Fashion Jewelry Ring
I was wondering what your opinions are on jewelry. Is more less? When I got
married (in the late 80's), the bigger the diamond, the more $$$$ you have.
But now, I'm seeing more and more women that do have money are wearing no
diamond, just a plain wedding band.
I like the look of diamonds (just like I like emeralds and saphires and
rubies) but I have a problem with the DeBeers people, so my wedding and
engagement rings are made from rubies and white saphires.
Anyone else have any comments on jewelry?
I have a ruby engagement ring too, just an oval stone in a simple
setting. I love it. For my anniversary I got a sapphire I'll sometimes
wear instead.
Now there are such wonderful "lab grown" stones--stones that are the
same chemical composition. These stones are usually very clear and
lovely, not to mention not part of anybody's "syndicate." I friend of
mine has a lab-grown emerald for her engagement ring and it's just
wonderful.
I used to love to pile on my favorite pieces all at the same time but
have definitely been letting up. I remember reading a long time
ago--think it was a quote from Coco Chanel--about wearing just one
really outrageous piece of costume jewlery. Have been trying that, also
with good jewlery. It feels less busy, and people do seem to notice the
pieces more.
