NEEDED - Designers of Fine Jewelry For On-Line Gallery ?

am the President of Jewelry Life, Inc., an On-Lien Fine Jewelry Gallery. We
recently opened our gallery for sales but are looking for designers that would
like to use our services.
Our services are free which means we will do the following for you:
1. You submit your slides or prints to us and we will scan them
2. You send us an artist statement so we can let customers know about you
3. You give us updated price lists for your work
Those are the three main steps to being in our gallery. This site is by artists
for artists and we'd like to help you out.
What we get:
1. Low commission on sales only, no more. Our commission is lower than the
average gallery which is 40-50% . We will set a commission below 40%. Once you
register with us our commission is set for life.

We hope you'll take a look at our site and see if we can help you in any way.
The bottom line for us is to help, not try to change the system. The company
started with the idea to promote a single designer's work. From that initial
idea it has grown into providing the same service to other designers.
I think the word consign has been misused in this instance. Susan was right
when she stated that at no time do we handle the jewelry. As a company, we
protect the designer's time and efforts by ensuring that when an order is placed
that all funds clear before we have the designer begin work. So, from our
vantage point, there is no need for a designer to do ANYTHING until a sale is
made. It is a free service, but it is certainly not cheap. I have been working
into the night on this site and the company. We are mere infants as far as this
particular idea and company goes, but veterans of the jewelry business both
froma design standpoint and a gallery standpoint.
Each designer has his/her own opinion of this type of venture. We believe it is
just an opportunity for designers to expand their exposure while maintaining
their individualness. The site is just as much the designer's as it is ours.
The designer chooses their work, describes that work, and sets their own retail
price. We are here to display the work, promote the site, and handle the
transaction. That is all. We offer nothing more, and we ask for a commission
for our troubles.
And if anyone was wondering whether or not fine jewelry sells on the internet.
There is a guy that will gross 4.5 Million dollars this year selling on-line.
