Delphi bankruptcy is aimed at union.

The Delphi workers, who supply GM's assembly plants, have the power to stop
production not just there but at General Motors as well, if they withhold
their labor. If the bankruptcy court attempts to impose the kind of wage
cuts and pension reductions that have been the pattern at United Airlines
and so many other companies, the UAW should be ready to shut down the
corporation and its parent GM as well. If the company is shut down Delphi will be making $00.00 per hour also.
Everybody knows they love money more than workers need money?
It is well know that most (not all) businesses operate by cost
analysis. Business will knowingly allow flawed products to kill their
customers if they believe the cost of litigation to be less than the cost of
recalling the flawed product. Money is more important than dead customers
in this regard.
Unions will knowingly decieve and mislead prospective members into believing
they will reveice the stars and the moon if they vote for a union, knowing
full well that they cannot promise anything other than that dues will be
charged. They do this for said dues.
Delphi has significant non-UAW manufacturing operations.
Delphi could simply close all UAW staffed factories and deal with things
from there. It would be a mess for 12 months or so, but then it would
all be over.
They have contracts with those employees and it would be illegal
to simply to shut them down. It should be illegal for them to sham
bankruptcy in only those plants that are union, but that is a different
story of corruption and bought politics.
