Why is it that there are so many of these **SNORT** **CHUCKLE** non-profit groups that claim to be able to reduce your outstanding debt?
There seems to be a plethora of ads on TV/radio these days offering tax
relief-reduction for those who've fallen behind in their payments to
the IRS. What's up with that? Why especially do some slackers (I
know..I know...there are exceptions) deserve to cut a deal and get away
with paying less when the rest of us bust our collective asses to pay
what we're supposed to?
What about these debt-relief schemes? Why is it that there are so many
of these **SNORT** **CHUCKLE** non-profit groups that claim to be able
to reduce your outstanding debt. Why do they claim it's so easy? Do
any have a proven record of success? Do they do what they claim?
Has anyone here utilized either of these services and willing to
comment on their good/bad points?

You assume that they actually deliver on this promised relief.

Further fleecing of desperate suckers.

No but there was an article I read somewhere (WSJ?) a few years ago
about how the legitimate credit counseling agencies were calling for an
overall crackdown on their industry because it was being invaded by
these scam artist nonprofits, which IIRC were pretty much set up to
steer business to related for-profit service corporations.
