experience with the debt free and prosperous living

Has anyone tryd the Debt-FREE & Prosperous

Living(tm) coarse by Greg Moore I've seen it advertise

in T H E D O L L A R S T R E T C H E R .
I'm embarrassed to say that I "bit" a few years ago and I actually complained

to Gary at Dollar Stretcher about their advertising this program.

For the money you pay (too much), they send you a slick book with their very

simple program and a lot of suggestions about couponing, etc, to save money.

You can get better frugal tips by hanging out here for free for a month.

At any rate, their program is not a new idea -- in addition to what you already

pay for bills (assuming you are paying the minimum balance due each month),

take an additional 10% of your income and apply to your debts (I think it's

10%, not really sure). They ask you, like most of these plans, to list your

debts in descending order, paying the minimum on all bills and the 10% to the

first on the list. When that debt is gone, apply all to the second, and so on.

They send you a computer diskette that has some kind of debt tracking program

but in order to really work with your data, you need to send them more

money. A scam, IMHO. They also want to recruit you to sell this program. My

advice: go to your library and get any good book on debt reduction and you've

come out ahead. And apply what this program charges to your debts.
