Can he lawsuit me?
Well, just when everything seems to be going well, some little pissant has
to come along and screw things up.
Here we are, 15 months past our Ch7 discharge date, rebuilding our credit
and being utterly anal about making certain that our credit is spotless, and
what do I receive in the mail?
Yup, a letter from a collection agency, Credit Management Control, Inc., for
an account that's been turned over to collections.
Here's the thing, though. The account they're attempting to collect on had
already been submitted to collections and paid IN FULL five years ago... and
reported to both Experian and TransUnion since 8/1998 as a paid collection,
balance $0.
These bastards know damned well that they're attempting to collect on a paid
collection, I'm sure.
What can I do if this collection agency reports a paid collection as a new
collection, and re-ages it?
Do I, says so often, "have a dandy of a FDCPA lawsuit"?
