Verizon is a very large company. They too offer span blockers and much of the same tools as EarthLink. They are very big in the telecommunication and technological industry.
Several more companies that service the US market are, Covad, Speakeasy, frontier bell south ,Excel, and At & T .However this is only hitting the tip of the iceberg where companies are concerned. There are as many as you can possibly imagine and then some. You can look all day and still not find the number of companies that actually offer this service however, as with most things some are a much better buy and better company to do business with than others.
All or most offer several services that are the same as other companies. The biggest difference is price. It is a very competitive market, so many try to sell for less than the other companies are.
DSL is the wave of the future and is a very lucrative business. It offers much of what the customers are looking for at a cost most can afford. Many even now offer some type of virus and spy ware protection. By doing this they do bring in more customers.
People want to surf the internet faster and do not like the hindrance of having to wait for the pc to dial up a connection. By using DSL, they have constant access and with so many companies offering it, the price is usually quite fair and easily attainable.
