Cures For Heartburn During Pregnancy
Help for heartburn during pregnancy?
I'm in my fourteenth week and have very severe heartburn that causes me to throw up. Tums don't seem to be working, and I don't want to go on any medications stronger than that. Does anybody have a "miracle cure?"
Can anyone in the group help me find the solution to that problem please?
i too have suffered from severe heartburn and indigestion. a lot of the times stuff comes up when i try to burp which is not pleasant. my advice, stay away from things that cause heartburn to be worse: chocolate, caffeine, tomato sauce, etc. give yourself at least 3 hours after eating before laying down. try to keep your upper body in an upright position (gravity helps the acid to stay down). tums didn't really work for me either. i tried rolaids and they helped more than tums, but dont eat too many of them. call your doctor for any futher tips and advise.
Try drinking a glass of milk before you eat anything and taking a couple tums right after you eat. The milk kind of coats your stomach. This has helped me so far. If that doesn't help you might try rolaids. Maybe they'll work better for you than the tums.
