As you research this subject remember that you will hear every company or
person tell you that their solution does best. If this is a major project
and you are looking at a significant investment (you likely are for any size
contact center) you may want to consider a competent consultant. I hate to
say it, but the baseline learning necessary to avoid very costly mistakes is
far more than you'll learn in a newsgroup.
If that is not an option, I'd suggest you talk to the top tier manufacturers
and let them educate you. That's their job, just don't forget my first
piece of advice above.
