Crm Business System model

I'm rather new to modelling. I'm creating a basic model of a retail
CRM business with Business Events, Processes and Objects. I was
wondering if there is a concensus on if computer systems and their
infrastructure belong as business objects or are these merely
implementation therefore they should be left out. If they're left
out, what about all of the existing support functions, where would
they fit in my model?
I'm modelling the current business in preparation of either creating
some system enhancements or re-engineering it to position for future
retail opportunities and reduce costs related to workflow.

Essentially, I've identified the majority of the components and the
business objects which will be utilized, but I can't logically fit in
the existing systems and all of their maintenance in these models.

The current system is distributed between amongst several platforms
and to maintain data integrity on all platforms, without sacrificing
performance, there are several batch processes which re-sync data on a
daily basis. My problem is where do these processes fit? Also what
about processes to check performance levels? Do they fit in my
business model?
Any thoughts would be appretiated.
If the infrastructure for the new/enhanced systems are significantly
different from what is in place now, then that would indicate the need for
communicating the cost/benefits of the differences in HW/SW. This may
consist of a more or less detailed inventory of the existing system and a
description of the changes. This doesn't necessarily have to be smoothly
integrated as a part of the description of the business model, but some
kind of cross-reference would be handy.

One way of describing HW/SW configurations is the "layered" approach: for
each configuration to be described (maybe an actual system, maybe one of
several "typical" systems) describe the system from the HW up to the SW.
Include network HW/SW if necessary. Include OS, middleware, and
application SW if necessary. Cross reference the business objects and
processes from those models to the particular SW systems described in the
platform configurations.
